Carbon Capture and Storage expert honoured with Prestigious Kalundborg Refinery Award 2025

 

Associate Professor Philip Loldrup Fosbøl is this year’s recipient of the Kalundborg Refinery Award. He received the award on 28th March, for his research and groundbreaking contribution in the development of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) over the past two decades. 

 

“Philip Loldrup Fosbøl’s strong commitment to sustainability is evident in the climate-focused projects he has initiated and led. In addition to his research, he helps shape CCS policies and strategies at the highest level,” says the award committee, which consists of Rector Anders Overgaard Bjarklev, Professor Christian Niordson and Professor Charlotte Scheutz.

 

The Kalundborg Refinery Award, which was presented by the Managing Director of Kalundborg Refinery, Claus Navntoft, is the oldest technology award in Denmark and is awarded once a year by the Kalundborg Refinery Foundation, which aims to support and promote socially beneficial contributions of a national, social, scientific, commercial, and human nature. The award comes with a prize of DKK 100,000 for the recipient.
