Dialogue is the way to good neighbourhood
On Tuesday afternoon, Kalundborg Refinery once again welcomed its neighbours to the refinery. More than 50 neighbours attended the annual neighbourhood meeting, the purpose of which is to promote dialogue and create a common understanding between the neighbours and the refinery.

Good neighbourly relations pay off, but they don’t come easy. It requires continuous and reciprocal effort. At Kalundborg Refinery they know this to be true, which is why they have had an annual neighbourhood meeting for many years. Here, the neighbours are invited inside for dialogue about the refinery’s activities.
The strong support continues
More than 50 neighbours had taken their seats in the administration building at Melbyvej, when Kalundborg Refinery’s Managing Director Wouter de Jong, opened this year’s neighbourhood meeting. In his speech, he emphasized the refinery’s desire to continue the rewarding collaboration with the local community, as well as the support for local activities, which make Kalundborg an attractive place to live, work and educate.
”It is crucial, that we as a company have a good collaboration with the local community of which we are a part. This means, among other things, good relations with our neighbours. I am pleased to be able to welcome many neighbours again this year. Time and time again, we are met with great openness and interest,” Wouter de Jong emphasises.
His speech was followed by an overview of the refinery’s activities during the past year – including operating status, environmental and safety performance as well as completed, ongoing and upcoming projects and routine shutdowns.
As usual, the evening ended with a three-course menu and a chat around the tables between the refinery’s neighbours and management team.
