Honouring our responsibilities means doing our part to protect the environment and contribute to our communities, while always operating with safety at our core of everything we do. We are proud that Kalundborg ranks among the top 10-15% of refineries for the lowest CO2 emissions in Europe and, at Heide, we are promoting renewable energy sources such as green hydrogen.

We are also engaging neighbours within both communities and have been involved in everything from apprenticeships to charitable endeavours. Since we acquire our assets for the long term, we see our roles in the community as long-standing neighbours who are building the future for the generations to come.

Sustainable Operations at Heide Refinery:

Heide Refinery is taking an active role in shaping the energy transition by reducing its CO2 emissions, working with partners and government agencies to promote renewable energy sources such as green hydrogen.

Our efforts to reduce sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions have been successful in ensuring that the air quality in the area surrounding the refinery is unchanged from the air quality in adjacent regions.
