5 Tårns Motion is awarded the Condensate Award 2024

5 Tårns Motion receives the Condensate Award 2024 for their initiative and commitment. The award, which comes with DKK 40,000, was presented by Claus Navntoft, Managing Director for Kalundborg Refinery, at an award ceremony on Wednesday September 25th. It is the 28th year in a row that Kalundborg Refinery presents this honour to local enthusiasts.

Representatives for working life, education and cultural life in Kalundborg were gathered when Kalundborg Refinery presented the Condensate Award 2024.

This year, the condensate award went to the exercise club 5 Tårns Motion for their initiative and commitment to club members, as well as other exercisers in Kalundborg and its surroundings.

‘’The club manages to combine social life with exercise, training and running, and makes itself available in many different connections, when something happens in Kalundborg,’’ said mayor and head of the award committee Martin Damm, when he unveiled the winner of the award:

‘’Therefore, we must say a big thank you to 5 Tårns Motion for your work regarding exercise, community and great experiences. All of it helps with making Kalundborg a better place to live and stay. This year’s Condensate Award of DKK 40,000 can therefore only go to you – everyone agreed to this in the committee.’’

 Organiser of Royal Run ‘24

In addition to three weekly running sessions, 5 Tårns Motion arranges local races, excursions to national races, trips abroad and urban development with a focus on the joy of physical activity.

5 Tårns Motion, which was established in 2005, has recently made a name for itself in the local community, when Royal Run ’24 in Kalundborg was placed in their hands. Here, 5 Tårns Motion managed to mobilise more than 230 volunteers who together made the Royal Run in Kalundborg a success – before, during and after the event.

The Condensate Award was received by the Chairman of 5 Tårns Motion, Erik Johnsen, and Deputy Chairman, Jesper Bundgaard.

‘’We are proud and honoured to be this year’s recipient of the award. We believe that the award will help set a light on the importance of exercise – to the world. At the same time the award – inwardly – will be a strong incitement to continue the work toward exercise and training in the years to come,’’ said Jesper Bundgaard and continued with explaining that the money will be used to expand their outdoor area, training education and strategy development.

 Anniversary around the corner.

The Condensate Award was first handed out in 1996 in connection with the start-up of the condensate refinery. The award is presented to a person or a club, that through their work has especially promoted cultural, of which includes training and youth activities in the local area, or a person or club which through art or training has performed extraordinarily.

Award winners are selected by an award committee, consisting of Mayor Martin Damm, Principal of Kalundborg Gymnasium, Trine Fogh Lauridsen, and Jakob Erhardt Pedersen, Editor at Nordvestnyt. Among previous recipients are Amfi Vestsjælland, Vestjællands Wake and Surf Club and Lion’s Cup.

The Award can celebrate its 30th anniversary in two years.
